Our Ofsted registered day nursery delivers flexible, wrap-around child care, five days a week, for children of 3 months – 5 years. Our Ofsted rating is ‘Good’ with ‘outstanding features’.
Through every aspect of our nursery service, you child’s development, care, fun and safety is our top priority and our dedicated team will work to deliver excellence at every level.
Why not come and see the nursery for yourself? We do regular tours.
In the meantime, here’s a taste of what you can expect from the nursery at the Chapel St Family Hub:
Full-time care, Monday – Friday: We provide full-time and part-time places, for up to 50 children, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., five days a week.
Dedicated baby care from 3 months: Our staff are fully trained and experienced in looking after children from 3 months to five years. In our designated baby room, your baby can play safely and sleep soundly and follow the routine they are used to at home.
Healthy eating and onsite catering: Healthy, wholesome, kid-friendly snack times and meals made onsite by a special Chapel St cook in a dedicated kitchen.
Learning through play: We have age-appropriate learning spaces for 2-3 year olds and 4-5 year olds in open-plan play zones. Your child will engage in a broad range of activities, including sensory and messy play, music and movement, story time, reading and exercise. Influenced by the German Educator Friedrich Froebel, we’ll offer children stimulating programmes for learning through imaginative play and will deliver an excellent service at every level.
Age-appropriate learning: The nursery operates in an open-plan format for the 2-5 age group. Having a ‘zone’ feel’ layout, with distinct areas for different types of activities, your child will be streamed into age appropriate learning streams, combined with periods for all-age play. Drawing from the practice and layout of ‘zoned’ school-based nurseries, this open-plan environment is conducive to peer-to-peer and cross-age learning, of immense benefit to your child.
Outside play on-site: Every child in our care, from babies to children has access to a secure onsite outside play environment. Children also participate in our active ‘Forest School’ programme, which includes nature trails out on Putney Heath.
Toddler sleep zone: Children from 2-5 learn and play in age-appropriate spaces in our open-plan nursery. For those that require a day-time sleep, we have a special sleep and quietness area that is an integral part of the nursery layout and daily routine.
Supporting family learning: A variety of ‘optional extra’ family workshops providing support for parents. All designed to support the development and learning of families together. Read about Family Services
